Death by Force

Vastoria Lucas, a 19-year-old African American female, tragically lost her life on March 28, 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a senior at Stratford High School and an avid basketball player who dreamed of playing at Vanderbilt University or Trevecca Nazarene University. Lucas was shot in the 600 block of South Eighth Street at the Cayce Homes public housing development while playing basketball. She was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
