In Nashville, Tennessee, a story of jealousy and violence unfolded, tragically ending the life of 23-year-old Quiondre Charles Benson. On March 11, 2021, Benson was visiting a female friend at an apartment located in the 4000 block of Alameda Street. The friendly visit turned into a scene of terror when a man forced his way into the residence.
The intruder, later identified as Lenoris Johnson, who was 31 years old at the time, was an acquaintance of the woman Benson was visiting.
Upon gaining entry, Johnson struck the woman in the face. In a fit of what investigators believe to be jealousy, he then fatally shot Quiondre Benson before fleeing the scene. Benson was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival.
The investigation into the homicide was led by Detective Arthur Hipp of the Metro Nashville Police Department's Homicide Unit. Their work quickly led them to Lenoris Johnson. Just a few days after the shooting, on the evening of March 15, 2021, detectives arrested Johnson at his Old Matthews Road residence.
Johnson was charged with criminal homicide for the death of Quiondre Benson. Following his arrest, he was held without bond as he awaited a hearing. The motive for the violent act was determined to be jealousy, bringing a swift but somber resolution to the initial phase of the investigation into Benson's untimely death.
