In the late hours of a Monday in Washington, D.C., the life of Stanley Maurice Dawkins, a 38-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On May 4, 2020, in the Truxton Circle neighborhood, Dawkins was found by officers from the Metropolitan Police Department on the 100 block of Q Street, Northwest, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services arrived at the scene and transported him to a local hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Stanley Dawkins succumbed to his injuries
and was pronounced dead. An autopsy later confirmed that he had been shot in the head. The Metropolitan Police Department classified his death as a homicide and opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. He was a resident of Northwest, D.C.
In the wake of his death, law enforcement officials have sought assistance from the public to bring those responsible to justice. A substantial reward has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects in his murder. As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case.
