On the night of May 4, 2020, Stanley Dawkins, a 38-year-old resident of Northwest, Washington, DC, was fatally shot on the 100 block of Q Street, NW. The Metropolitan Police Department received an alert about the shooting shortly before 11 p.m. Dawkins was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police issued a homicide notice the following day, May 5, 2020, and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
