In the quiet neighborhood of Meadowlands Cove in north Jackson, Tennessee, the life of 40-year-old LaTeesha Shunnea Matthews was tragically cut short on the evening of December 12, 2020. An African American woman, Matthews was inside her home when the peace was shattered by the sound of multiple gunshots at approximately 9:05 p.m. She was struck by several bullets fired from outside her residence.
