Mikkel Latrece Joy, a 26-year-old woman from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on October 26, 2015. She was shot and killed in her East Jackson home by Ernest Emerson, a 64-year-old man who then attempted to take his own life. The incident was reportedly linked to domestic violence. Emerson was found in critical condition and later died from his injuries. The Jackson Police Department confirmed that the investigation into the murder and attempted suicide was ongoing at the time.
