On July 31, 2021, Kelsy Cook, a 24-year-old woman from Loudon, Tennessee, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident at the Soaky Mountain Waterpark parking lot in Sevierville, Tennessee. Cook was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center but was pronounced dead later that evening. Another woman, Angie Russell, 23, was also injured in the shooting but her injuries were non-life-threatening.
