In a tragic turn of events in Memphis, Tennessee, Jeremiah Taylor, a 32-year-old man, was killed on Friday, February 25, 2022. Taylor was a U.S. Army veteran and was well-regarded in his community for his selfless dedication to maintaining the memorial for the late rapper Young Dolph, who was also killed in Memphis. He was known to be a creative, helpful, and kind individual who would go out of his way to assist anyone.
On the day of his death, police initially responded to what appeared
to be a car accident on Getwell Road. Upon arrival, they discovered that Taylor, the driver of the vehicle, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. It is believed that he was shot while driving and subsequently crashed his car into a pole. Friends indicated he may have been attempting to drive himself to a hospital after being shot.
The Memphis Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, seeking information from the public to help identify those responsible for Taylor's death. Investigators released surveillance images of a suspect's vehicle, a black Mercedes-Benz, that was seen following Taylor's car moments before the shooting. At the time of the initial reports, no suspects had been identified, and police had no immediate leads in the fatal shooting. Community activists and friends remembered Taylor as a great person who was dedicated to honoring Young Dolph and working to heal the community from gun violence.
