On a tragic Wednesday evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 17-year-old Corteria Wright was cut short by gunfire. The young woman, remembered by her family as an intelligent and happy person who was always laughing and joking, was fatally shot on September 7, 2022. She had just turned 17 a couple of weeks prior, on August 25, and had recently shared her goals and plans for the future with her family over dinner.
