Seventeen-year-old Corteria Wright, a young African American female, tragically lost her life on September 7, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee. Initially, it was believed that she was a victim of a mass shooting spree conducted by Ezekiel Kelly, a 19-year-old ex-convict who terrorized the city for over 22 hours. However, further investigation revealed that Corteria's death was not connected to Kelly's rampage. Instead, she was shot in a separate incident on the same night.
