Death by Force

Cornell Warren, a 19-year-old male, tragically died on September 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, PA. His death was the result of a confrontation with Philadelphia police officers. Warren was initially stopped for a traffic violation and was handcuffed with his hands behind his back. He attempted to flee, prompting the officers to pursue him. During the chase, Officer Thomas Bowe caught Warren, struck him, and ultimately shot him. Witnesses testified to the excessive force used by the officers.
