In the cool of a late autumn evening, tragedy befell a young man from Turtle Creek, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Darnell Lamont Jones, a 28-year-old Black male, was found lying alongside a road in Wilkinsburg on Saturday, October 31, 2015. His life had been cut short by gunfire in a fatal shooting that occurred shortly after 9 p.m. in the 2000 block of Laketon Road, not far from Turner Elementary School.
