Jamail Sanders, a 20-year-old from Detroit, was killed on January 7, 2010. On that tragic night, Sanders, along with another young man, Hassan Antoine Desaussure, was shot while sitting inside Sanders' car, a 2001 Ford Taurus. The vehicle was parked on Brace Street near the Southfield Freeway and Warren when a red Dodge Stratus approached, and at least one gunman opened fire on the occupants, resulting in both Sanders and Desaussure being fatally wounded.
