On the evening of April 11, 2019, a young man named Jaron Pearson, reported to be either 20 or 21 years old, was fatally shot in Detroit, Michigan. He was sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Curtis and Wisconsin Street on the city's west side when the incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m.
According to police reports, a dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside Pearson's car, and an occupant or occupants of that vehicle opened fire. Pearson was struck by the gunfire.
He was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
In the years following the shooting, the case has remained unsolved, and no arrests have been made. Detroit Police Department's Homicide Unit has investigated the incident, and in early 2024, Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for Jaron Pearson's death. The authorities continue to seek assistance from the public to bring resolution to the case. There have been no publicly identified suspects in connection with the murder.
