Lance Sutherland, a 34-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on September 29, 2021. The incident occurred at approximately 1:37 a.m. when Detroit police officers were dispatched to a bar located in the 6400 block of Woodward Avenue in response to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Sutherland lying on the ground in the parking lot, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
