In the early hours of a Monday morning in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the life of 26-year-old Victor Ward was tragically cut short. On May 2, 2016, police were called to a residence on Bell Avenue around 2:15 a.m., where they discovered Ward's body. He had been fatally shot multiple times with a semi-automatic rifle following an argument. The man identified as the suspect, 20-year-old Takeo Cox, turned himself in to the New Castle police a few hours after the incident.
