Brashaun Green, a 21-year-old Black male from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, was shot multiple times on September 3, 2018. The fatal shooting occurred around 4:10 p.m. in the Mifflin Estates housing complex in West Mifflin.
Green was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m.
Brashaun was a 2015 graduate of McKeesport High School, where he had been a member of the Tigers Football team. He had taken classes at the Community College of Allegheny County and was involved in an electrical apprenticeship program. Known for his love for children and his willingness to help the elderly, he had worked at the Boys and Girls Club and a local nursing home. He was a father to three young children.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Allegheny County homicide detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Green's death.
