On March 29, 2022, 29-year-old Devonte White, a male of African American ethnicity from Wilkinsburg, was found shot and killed outside a home in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood. Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots around 10 p.m. and discovered White with multiple gunshot wounds on the front lawn of a residence on Chelton Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
