In the late summer of 2018, the life of Phillip Anthony Clark, a 44-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short in what would become part of a larger, violent crime spree that gripped the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. On September 5, 2018, Mr. Clark was found in his West 29th Street home, the victim of a fatal shooting. The circumstances of his death were particularly brutal, as it was revealed that he was left to die in his wheelchair after his home was set on fire during a home invasion and robbery.
The investigation into Phillip Clark's murder was extensive and complex, eventually leading Erie police to connect his death to a string of other violent crimes that had occurred in the area. This led to the identification and arrest of several individuals. Three men, Raeshawn D. McCallum, Destin A. Dortch, and Christopher J.
