Melvin Gerald Wax, an 88-year-old male of Jewish ethnicity, tragically lost his life on October 27, 2018, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a beloved member of the New Light Congregation in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood. Wax was known for his dedication to the synagogue, often being the first to arrive and the last to leave. His death was part of a larger tragedy, as he was one of the victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.
