Upon arrival, officers discovered Smith with gunshot wounds to his trunk, head, pelvis, and extremities. Despite immediate medical attention, he did not survive.
Smith was remembered by his community as an all-around good kid who was talented in music and active in his church. His family and friends have been vocal about seeking justice for his untimely death. Pittsburgh Police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
