Thomas Peterson, a 24-year-old male from Philadelphia, PA, tragically died on October 4, 2020. The cause of his death was a shooting incident. Surveillance footage revealed that Carlos Morales, a 27-year-old male from Philadelphia, ambushed Peterson in broad daylight, firing several shots and continuing to chase him before ultimately shooting him down.
Morales was identified as the shooter and was subsequently wanted for criminal homicide.
Following the incident, Morales fled to Albany, New York, but was eventually captured by the U.S. Marshals Service on September 10, 2021. During the arrest, authorities also discovered 125 grams of fentanyl, 73 grams of crack, and cash worth over $20,000 on the street. Morales was taken into custody and faced charges for the murder of Thomas Peterson.
The case highlighted the cooperation between law enforcement agencies from different jurisdictions, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Albany Police Department, and other local agencies, to bring Morales to justice.
