In the afternoon of June 8, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a North Philadelphia street. When police arrived at the 2500 block of Mutter Street shortly after 2:15 p.m., they discovered a grim scene. Inside a black 2015 Honda Civic, a man, later identified as 42-year-old Debon Butler, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body. A Black male, Butler was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
