In the late afternoon of July 6, 2022, on the 5000 block of Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia, gunshots shattered the day, leaving two men critically wounded. One of these men was 29-year-old Nafee Hardy-Childs, a Black male from East Clapier Street. Philadelphia Police officers who responded to the scene at 2:46 p.m. found Mr. Hardy-Childs and the other victim, 28-year-old Daquan Tucker, suffering from gunshot wounds.
The officers quickly transported both men to Albert Einstein Medical Center. Despite the efforts of the hospital's medical staff to save his life, Nafee Hardy-Childs succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that evening. The second victim, Daquan Tucker, was also pronounced deceased at the hospital at 3:15 p.m.
The investigation into the double homicide is ongoing, and as of now, the case remains unsolved. The Philadelphia Police Department has not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward to assist in bringing justice to the families of Nafee Hardy-Childs and Daquan Tucker.
