On a Friday morning in North Philadelphia, tragedy struck on the 2600 block of York Street. It was there, at approximately 11:32 a.m., that 20-year-old Dakwuan Anderson was found lying on the sidewalk, having been shot multiple times.
Emergency responders rushed Anderson, a resident of the Kingsessing neighborhood, to Temple University Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries two and a half hours later.
The promising young life of Dakwuan, born on April 23, 1995, was tragically cut short on October 2, 2015.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Philadelphia police responded to the report of a person with a gun. However, the search for those responsible for Anderson's death has been met with difficulty. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. Furthermore, authorities have not been able to provide a description of any suspect or suspects involved in the fatal shooting. The case remains unresolved, leaving a community to mourn and a family without answers.
