On a Saturday morning, October 24, 2020, the body of 21-year-old Joseph Konneh, a Black male, was discovered in the rear yard of a residence on the 8000 block of Lyons Street in the Eastwick section of Philadelphia. A homeowner made the grim find around 9:45 a.m. and immediately alerted the authorities.
When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene, they found Konneh had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Office of the Medical Examiner later determined that he had been shot in the head, stomach, and foot. Medical responders officially pronounced him dead at the scene shortly before 10 a.m. Joseph Konneh was a resident of the 6100 block of Elmwood Avenue.
