Anibal DeJesus, a 36-year-old Hispanic male, tragically became the first homicide victim of 2019 in Philadelphia. On the night of December 31, 2018, DeJesus was shot multiple times in the head, face, and chest on the 3200 block of Tampa Street in the Kensington neighborhood. Medics pronounced him dead at 12:17 a.m. on January 1, 2019. The incident occurred just minutes after midnight, marking a somber start to the new year.
