On the evening of December 28, 2016, a 20-year-old Black male named Kwadir Hines-Baldwin was fatally shot in Philadelphia. The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. in the rear parking lot of a restaurant situated on the 1300 block of West Butler Street. Responding to the scene, Philadelphia Police officers discovered Kwadir injured and promptly transported him to Temple University Hospital.
Despite the medical attention he received, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening.
Known affectionately as 'Fat Daddy' by his loved ones, Kwadir was remembered as a happy person who was deeply cherished by his family. His mother and grandmothers expressed profound grief and a desperate plea for justice in the wake of his death. They described him as a good kid who did not deserve his violent end and lamented the lasting impact his murder has had on his younger siblings.
The investigation into the death of Kwadir Hines-Baldwin remains open. As of now, there has been no public announcement regarding any suspects or arrests in connection with the shooting.
