In the Logan section of Philadelphia, on the evening of September 6, 2008, a 29-year-old African-American male named Ronnell Davis was found outside on the 4400 block of North Franklin Street with gunshot wounds to his neck and arm. The shooting occurred at approximately 8 p.m. in the midst of a year that was marked by a significant level of violence within the city.
