In the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh on the evening of Saturday, February 12, 2022, the life of John Larnell Taylor Jr., a 42-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. Just before 8:45 p.m., the sound of gunfire prompted a ShotSpotter alert and several 911 calls, drawing police to the 7000 block of Idlewild Street.
