On October 10, 2022, 13-year-old Jeremiah Nasir Wilcox was tragically shot multiple times in the head and face in Philadelphia's Ogontz neighborhood. He was found lying on the sidewalk on the 6500 block of North Smedley Street around 6:48 p.m. Despite being rushed to Einstein Medical Center, Jeremiah was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Jeremiah, a Black male, was an eighth-grader at Wagner Middle School and was known for his love of sports and his sense of humor.
