In the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia, a young man's life was cut tragically short in a burst of gunfire. Markeith Green, a 22-year-old Black male, was on the 2000 block of Fernon Street on the evening of May 12, 2023, when violence erupted. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his arm, hand, and torso. Despite the immediate response from emergency services, Green was pronounced dead at the scene, his life extinguished on the city pavement.
