Paris Bradley, a 14-year-old girl from Cleveland, OH, tragically lost her life on October 10, 2018. She was brutally murdered alongside her father, Paul Bradley, 39, in a horrific crime that shook the community. The two were found dead inside a burning car in East Cleveland, which was later identified as a rental car in Paul Bradley's name.
The investigation revealed that Paris and her father were forcibly taken from their home and subjected to torture before being killed.
Paris was shot multiple times in the head, while her father was bound and burned alive in the car. The brutality of the crime was described by authorities as "barbarism that I cannot explain" by Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Gregory Paul.
Three men were eventually arrested and charged with the crime: Ronald Newberry, 27, Kodii Gibson, 25, and Demarcus Sheeley, 28. The investigation found that the three men broke into the Bradley family home with the intent to rob Paul Bradley. They forced the father and daughter out of bed at gunpoint, beat Paul Bradley, and demanded money. After ransacking the house, they kidnapped the pair and subjected them to torture before killing them.
In March 2022, all three men were sentenced for their roles in the crime. Ronald Newberry and Kodii Gibson were convicted of multiple counts of aggravated murder, arson, kidnapping, and more, and were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 60 and 50 years, respectively. Demarcus Sheeley, who pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter, received a 15-year prison sentence.
The tragic loss of Paris Bradley, a freshman at Bedford High School and a beloved member of her community, left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her death and the subsequent legal proceedings against the perpetrators highlighted the devastating consequences of violent crime and the importance of justice for the victims and their families.
