Born on June 3, 1991, in Wayne County, Joshua was the son of Glenn Darden and Irene Forbes. He was a father to two children and resided at 101 Pine Court in Goldsboro. On the day of his death, Joshua was involved in a confrontation at a residence on Bryan Boulevard in the Mar Mac community.
During this altercation, he was shot by Matthew Craig Moyers, a 24-year-old male from Dudley, North Carolina. After being shot, Joshua managed to return to the car he had arrived in and left the scene. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, passing away at a business located on U.S. Highway 117 South.
