Daniel Wells Cummings, a 32-year-old male from Old Lowery Road in Red Springs, was arrested on October 3, 2016, and charged with first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Cummings was held at the Hoke County jail without bond. The investigation indicated that Cummings had been pursuing Terry's vehicle, which resulted in the fatal crash.
