Jamaa Keon Cassell, a 39-year-old African American male, was one of the victims of a tragic mass shooting that occurred on June 22, 2020, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident took place during a Juneteenth celebration on Beatties Ford Road, which had evolved into nightly block parties. The celebration turned deadly when multiple shooters fired into a crowd of approximately 400 people.
