Damian R. Lee, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 18, 2022, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Slater Avenue. According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Damian was shot twice in the torso during an argument at a family friend's home. The suspect, Tyreese Robinson, 30, was reportedly unhappy with Damian's presence, which led to the fatal altercation.
Damian was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the shooting.
Following the incident, Tyreese Robinson was arrested on December 2, 2022, and charged with first-degree murder. He was taken into custody at his Summerwind Drive home and booked into the Cumberland County jail without bail. The police confirmed that the shooting was not random, as the victim and suspect were known to each other.
Damian's death has left a significant impact on his family and community. He is survived by his mother and father, Juanita McNair and Robert McNair, as well as his birth parents, Beverly Lee and David Magee. Damian also leaves behind several siblings: David, Antonio, Thamious, Willnesha, Andrea, and Tonya. His funeral services were held on October 29, 2022, at Kingdom Impact Global Ministries in Fayetteville, followed by his burial at Rockfish Memorial Park.
