Clarence Roy Smith, a 54-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was found dead on June 10, 2015. Smith, who was a member of the National Guard, was discovered in the front yard of Sheri Williams Jones' home. Jones, a 57-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Smith's death.
