Leonard Howard Sr., a 78-year-old African American male, was a retired process operator with U.S. Steel and a decorated U.S. Army veteran of two wars. He resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was well-regarded in his community. On May 21, 2006, Leonard Howard Sr. tragically lost his life in a homicide that also claimed the life of his wife, Gloria Howard. The couple was laid to rest in Southern Memorial Gardens in Baton Rouge.
