Dalina Demarkis Stamsberry, a 30-year-old black trans man, was tragically killed on February 27, 2016, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Stamsberry was fatally shot in the head by 24-year-old Nicholas Matthews inside Matthews's home just before 11:30 a.m. on that fateful Saturday. The East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputies pronounced Stamsberry dead at the scene.
