In the quiet early morning hours of August 5, 2007, a sense of tragedy befell a Baton Rouge community. Darryl Jerome Triplett, a 54-year-old male and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, had a routine of taking a morning walk, a simple pleasure that marked the start of his day. On this particular Sunday, his peaceful ritual was violently interrupted. He was found deceased at approximately 7 a.m., his life cut short by an act of violence.
