The incident occurred around 7:35 p.m. on Scotland Avenue, where police found Franklin with gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Franklin's death marked the third teen fatality due to gun violence in the Baton Rouge area within a month.
