On a late summer evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of Jason Bernard 'Goonie Jam' Johnson, a 44-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On September 6, 2020, Johnson was fatally wounded in a shooting that also left two other individuals injured. The incident occurred on Choctaw Drive, disrupting the calm of the Sunday morning.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Kentro Taylor, who was 47 years old at the time. The search for Taylor extended beyond state lines, leading to his capture in Champaign, Illinois. His arrest marked a significant development in a case that had left a community reeling.
