In the summer of 2017, the life of 37-year-old Donald Wayne Ely, a male resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On the evening of June 29th, Ely was shot multiple times at 620 East Polk Street, near Thomas H. Delpit Drive. Emergency crews arrived to find him deceased at the scene. The nature of the incident immediately launched a homicide investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department.
