On a Friday morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of 29-year-old Aaron Batiste, an African American male, was tragically cut short. Just a day after his birthday, on April 23, 2021, Batiste was shot at an apartment complex on Plank Road. The shooting occurred shortly before 6 a.m., shattering the early morning calm.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and transported Batiste to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries later that day. ...
