In the late afternoon of a Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragedy struck 27-year-old Torrence Tate. On June 12, 2016, at approximately 5 p.m., Tate was inside his vehicle at the intersection of Holiday Court and Hoover Avenue, near the BREC Rio Drive Park, when he was caught in a hail of gunfire. The shots originated from another moving vehicle in what authorities have described as a drive-by shooting.
