In the late summer of 2022, a fatal shooting in Baton Rouge claimed the life of Jeremy Darnell Williams, a 35-year-old man. The incident unfolded on Sunday, August 14, in the parking lot of the Save More Convenience Store located on Plank Road.

Authorities with the Baton Rouge Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the identification of a suspect, 27-year-old Desmond Coates. Later that month, Coates was taken into custody in connection with the ...
