In the early morning hours of a mid-summer day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of 48-year-old Derrick Parish was tragically cut short. On July 15, 2019, officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department were dispatched to the 6400 block of Hanks Drive after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon their arrival at approximately 2:30 a.m., they discovered a grim scene. In a field situated near an apartment complex, they found Parish suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
