In the evening hours of Saturday, November 20, 2021, a fatal shooting shattered the quiet of a Baton Rouge apartment complex on Toulon Drive. Inside one of the residences, 31-year-old Jason Rosilez was found deceased in a bedroom. Tragically, three children were also present in the room at the time of the incident but were physically unharmed.
According to witness accounts, an altercation preceded the deadly gunfire.
It is alleged that Rosilez pointed a weapon at 46-year-old Erron Joseph at the doorway of the apartment. Following this initial confrontation, Joseph reportedly went to his vehicle, retrieved a rifle, and then entered Rosilez's apartment through an open door. It was at this point that Joseph is accused of firing the fatal shots.
Law enforcement from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Following an investigation into the shooting, Erron Joseph was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
