On August 11, 2024, Kemond Brooks, a 33-year-old resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragically lost his life due to gun violence in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the Sewell Community Grocery on Elmer Avenue, where Kemond and an unnamed female victim were shot at from a passing vehicle.
