In the quiet evening hours of a Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of 33-year-old Kemond Brooks, a male, was tragically cut short. On August 11, 2024, what began as a routine evening outside the Triple A Food Mart in the Scotlandville neighborhood descended into violence. Brooks was reportedly cleaning outside the store, located at 469 Elmer Avenue, when a vehicle approached. In a sudden and brutal act, gunfire erupted from the passing car in a drive-by shooting.
