Family members reported that Abraham had been exhibiting erratic behavior due to methamphetamine use, experiencing severe paranoia and hallucinations in the days leading up to the incident. Ms. Anzaldua had reportedly expressed intentions to have her son move out because of his behavior.
Authorities issued a warrant for Abraham Anzaldua on charges of capital murder. He was apprehended on February 15, 2024, near Sinton, Texas, after being spotted by citizens who alerted law enforcement. He surrendered without incident and was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals.
Abraham was subsequently charged with capital murder, with bond set at $500,000, and possession of a controlled substance, with an additional bond of $1,000. He remains in the Nueces County Jail awaiting trial.
