In the early morning hours of January 20, 2017, the life of 31-year-old Simone Veal, a resident of Marrero, Louisiana, was tragically cut short in a violent domestic dispute. Veal, who was eight months pregnant, was shot and killed by her husband, 32-year-old Sylvester Holt. The incident began with an altercation at Veal's home, where Holt shot her. She managed to flee in her car, but Holt pursued her.
